14 year, yup married to Mike 14 years today. Some days it feels like yesterday and some days, it feels like 25 years :). Good times, hard time, happiness, sorrows-all shared, all survived. Life is what you make it and for me, it's all good.
Happy Anniversary and yes, I remembered (okay, now here is where I get bashed-I "forgot" Mike's birthday last year. I knew when it was mind you, I don't write this stuff down. I just happen to not realize it was the 6th until the 7th when I looked on the calendar. To make matters worse, his admin assistant should have called and told me IMHO, since he mentioned to her he thought I forgot. She didn't. I shouldn't have told anyone I forgot, but in my "I feel like crap for it" mode, I did and "they" all made a big deal about it, which made it worse). Remember, a lot of significant things for us are on the 21st or 23rd of different months and I admit, I pulled out my wedding invite a few weeks ago to check the correct date and then marked it on the calendar because, as I am told by all who heard the "YOU MISSED MIKE'S BIRTHDAY?" fiasco, how horrible I was, I have written on the calendar our anniversary and it is 14 years cause I did the math, 'kay. June 23rd, 1996.
Perhaps I am not great at the date thing, but maybe it's because everyday is a celebration of your life, so birthdays, anniversaries, they're just a date on the calendar. Have fun everyday, love everyday and appreciate what you have everyday and the dates won't matter.
