Cowl-Girl Take 2 or Anal-Retentive Behavior II

Because I made a typo on my Scarflette pattern (which I caught day after publication) when I wrote the "I Wanna Be a Cowl-Girl" pattern, I was extra careful and it's being tested by 4 people, two styles, etc. I plan to sell the pattern on Ravelry inexpensively because I have spent so much time on the darn thing. The original pattern worked out perfectly, however I decided I wanted it a little snugger, less "cowly" (no such word, I know) for myself and then went as far as, "Hey, maybe a worsted version too for those who don't want a bulkier one". I am still working on the worsted one tonight and someone is testing that version, however the second version I made, the one I prefer now to the original, is going to be the "main" pattern and then the sizing changes will be listed for the other two sizes, as well as easy instructions on how to size for kids, etc.

Of course, I happen to be going somewhere last week and AC Moore was on the way. I refused to make a special trip, but it was on the way, so I HAD to stop, you know how that goes. Picked up two skeins of Moda Dea Tweedle Dee in some colors I hadn't seen before, Ocean Breeze and Grape Jam and went to work. The color changes in this one isn't as dramatic as the Cherry Cola one, but it has some changes and I wore it today and preferred the fit and the warmth of it, plus I go my hair cut last night and the neck was a bit cold today.

This color is Ocean Breeze-turquoise with some green undertones and tweed. I like the colorway. I didn't realize, til I looked at the chart I linked above the grape jam had some reddish tones (not a Red Hatter here, still too young), but the Ocean Breeze isn't as light as shown in their swatch. That being said, since I only used 1/2 a skein, maybe the other half will surprise me. I wanted more like the Cherry Cola shading effect, however AC Moore had a slim selection and half the ball bands were missing and the only light to dark they had was Sahara and, well I went for the gaud and what would look best with the hat I had and such-okay, I went for the brighter colors cause I always do.

So here it is shown worn up, folded down (how I prefer), with winter coat and lain flat. The pattern pdf will hopefully be available tomorrow. All my testers will get a copy of the final pdf and yes, you too Bron!

Nice cowl, lovely shades of blue! I also like it better worn folded down ;)

That's really cute! I think I have to agree with Mimi that it looks better folded down.

Love the cowl, Deneen. I made a handful and they sold very quickly this winter, they're very popular right now. I stupidly have not made one for myself even though I love them. I have tons of Noro lying around, maybe I'll have to get your pattern and indulge! :)
