Arrivederci Bloglines

You may (or may not) have noticed, my blogroll is gone. Bloglines has let me down once again. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a free site, however when you have my feeds jammed up since October 1 and I write to you and they aren't fixed and then you do get bagto me 15 days later and say you added a new feed and then 19 days later update one of the feeds, it's time to part ways. I've been using Google Reader personally anyway, they update every 15 minutes, but I don't think they have a way to add a blogroll to your site unless you add one at a time. I will s-l-o-w-l-y add blogs, so please don't get hurt if your blog isn't listed or if you see the blogroll gone. And yes, I have gotten emails before asking "why did you remove me?" when I didn't, just subscribe through Google Reader instead. For the record, I sub to 160 feeds, so bear with me here please.

So what does this mean if you still use Bloglines to keep yourself updated on blogs? Not a damn thing. However, it means my Blogroll won't be on my sidebar any longer and I wanted to explain why.

I am reading posts, not commenting much, life gets in the way sometimes, but I still read. For those still using Bloglines, it'll update there, the atom feed is still available, they've just become unreliable to me and mine wasn't the only site affected.

You can easily transfer your Bloglines account to Google Reader, it looks confusing, but it's not and they walk you through it. If I can do it, anyone can. And Good Reader also has a nifty "subscribe" button you can add to your bookmarks too.

Arriverderci Bloglines, Hello Reader.

But G Reader updates so regularly that I'm always at least 500 posts behind schedule reading! :)

How have you been? I've been so busy with school and kid activities that I try to sneak in some crochet time before falling asleep. I miss keeping up to date on everyone.

Hmmm. I am really tempted to switch to google reader, but bloglines must have fixed whatever their problem was. All of those little exclamation points are gone now and the ones I had trouble with are up to date now too. So I'm going to check out google reader now. Hopefully it will be easy to switch!

I've also thought about switching to a different reader. If you say its not hard to move them over I'll look into it again. Thanks!

I mostly use Bloglines, but I have Google reader also. You can move all your Bloglines subs into Google reader in one action, though.

Okay, I need to do something like this too, because blogs I read won't even display anymore, I think because I had too many listed. So it sounds like google is the way to go, now just figuring out what it's about.
