Still here-Some FO's and WIP's

Still here, busy week last week, extremely busy. Work lasted a day longer than expected, I had some medical stuff for Elena to take care of that turned into an all day affair on Tuesday, end of school year Pizza Party was on Wednesday for Elena's class, Thursday was an emergency pool supply run plus some other errands and then Friday was Elena's school Carnival day all day, but I had to run an x-ray 18 miles the opposite direction, stop at Old Navy (okay, I didn't have to, but it was on the "loop" and I figured why not), made it to the school at 10:00 and got home at 3:00 and forgot sunblock-major burn on my back and back of my knees (don't ask, but it's not a "good look"). School will be out for the year on Tuesday (Yay I say!). Yesterday we went out to brunch and I recall saying "I'm just gonna rest my eyes for a few minutes upstairs" and 4 hours later, I woke up-I guess my eyes needed more rest than I first anticipated. Today, we all went out and got our hair cut and I am making Zuppa Toscana for Mike for Father's Day. Only I used homemade hot sausage, escarole for kale (it was in our Organic Co-Op delivery this week) and red potatoes, again in the co-op delivery this week. We planned to hang outside all day, but a sudden rainstorm stopped that, but I see the sun is peeking out again. Besides, the Red Sox are on, so what could make it a better Father's Day?????

Oh and remember the Woodpecker saga of last year? Almost a year to the day, the little bastard is back and brought a friend. Elena insists it's his wife, but I don't care-now the two of them take turns on different parts of the house doing a Morse code thing and lemme tell you, something has gotta give. When I can finally sleep past 6:00 AM, these two have the audacity to start their little game at around 5:45 AM and continue until about 8:00 AM. This is the second morning in a row they have come to visit and I'll need the damn owl thing and honestly, I can't imagine moving the owl every couple days for the little pecker heads (name seems appropriate) as the Division of Game and Wildlife suggested because "they can be smart".

I do have some FO's and WIP's going on though (all little stuff).

First, an FO: Ele's (did I mention I adore her??)Crazy Easy Kitschy Kozy Tissue Box Cover.. It was crazy easy and fast and although I had some kilt pins, I couldn't find any neat beads to work on it-so I used a plastic little ring thing, sc around it and then did a flower and sewed a button in the middle. It's for my mom, the colors match her living room. I used Sugar N Cream's new Confectionery Collection in Maple Sugar.

Next, some WIP's:

First off, another Weaved Hot Pad, same colors, just have to weave them together. This will be a little surprise for someone. It's been done for a week, but the weaving is holding me back.

Next, another one's of Ele's patterns (okay, I begged her to do this pattern and now I need her to write one up using worsted weight for winter, more of a tam in her spiral method, no seams-hint if she reads this :)). This pattern is her Crazy Easy Everyone Needs a Slouchy Beret pattern
. For this I am using the Pakucho Organic Cotton from Elann in Cafe. Elann's price is half of what it is anywhere else and they have that cheaper shipping choice if you are only getting 3 skeins (total shipping was like 3 bucks).

So for all those I owe an email to (Tina especially) and for those who have been wondering...still here, just not enough time lately. Now, to figure out what to do about those damn woodpeckers........

The beret is adorable. I can't wait to see how it works up. Since I've got this ridiculous hat fetish I'm not dying to buy the pattern!

I'm glad your torturous work weeks are done and you're almost able to hang out with Elena and enjoy the summer. It's about time isn't it?

Love the tissue box cover too. Don't you love the new Sugar N Cream? I've seen the new naturals and confectionary colors, but not the new culinary colors. I would love to buy some of each. But I suppose I need more yarn like I need a hole in the head! :)

Take care Deneen!

Maybe the peckerheads are after your FO's?

Ever think of that?? :)

Good luck getting rid of the peckers.

Its the second syndrome on the hotpads...my multi-color one is sitting here waiting to be weaved together too. *sigh* maybe tomorrow
