To Celebrate the Socks.....

I treated myself to a spa pedicure today-full leg treatment too. Ahhhhh.....school's back in session. But then I started thinking about winter coming and how damn cold my feet get and what will I do about the pedicures, cause yes, they're addictive and yes, they're pampering myself and yes, I plan to get them all winter. I "googled" pedicure socks and came up with these, but I don't knit. They're done in worsted weight too-hmmmm, I've decided to come up with a crochet version, maybe use some Wool-Ease to try them out. Since they are only worn with flip-flops, how bad can the WW be to just wear em home? The CAL really has me thinking a lot......

ETA: I've already started the pattern writing process. I'm half done the first one. It combines the idea Pam socks, with a different edging around the foot area. I'm trying it out in Wool-Ease Worsted (since it doesn't matter if it goes in your regular shoes), so it'll be a fast and easy project. Once I get it worked out, I'll post the pattern for people to test and give me some feedback.

For all those curious, my freakishly flat/thin feet looking purty:

Sheesh... I'm sorry I called your feet "freakishly thin"... I wasn't meaning to insult your feet, I was just having a hard time comprehending that the socks I made would actually fit someone who wasn't a child.

Google crochet sock patterns -- all you have to do for pedi socks is leave off the toe shaping, so for cuff down socks you just stop when they are long enough in the foot. For toe-up, start the pattern after the increases for the toes.

I've seen several books in Hobby Lobby for crocheted socks as well. Here's another pattern from crochetandknitting.com: http://www.crochetandknitting.com/socks.htm

My daughter has really narrow feet, too. No worries--they still get her where she wants to go. :)

As for the pedicure socks, those are really cute! Yes, you should come up with a crocheted version then share it with the rest of us crocheters. I don't get pedicures, but socks like that would be fun.
