Fathers Day Pics

We did nothing for Father's Day except hang out. Elena took these pics (all but the ones with her in them) with the digital camera she got for Christmas. She does okay for a 7 year old (and compared to me).

Note my new glasses "Lust Red"-they have the clip on sunglasses and are NOT working out. The progressive lenses are driving me nutso and I don't wear them unless I am driving-I can't get the hang of moving my head, etc and since I don't need them to read (I was told I would wear them all the time and read out of the bottom part of the lens), they're annoying. I wore them out yesterday and I swear, for driving they are fine, but then when I was in the library and talking to someone, I couldn't position my head right and they were out of focus and it's annoying. Any suggestions from those with them? Do they need to be adjusted? Is it me? At work, they were useless and I kept tossing them off like before. AAARGH~!

Anyway, here's the pics (two are black and white because I forgot to do the red eye thing on Elena's camera and her eyes looked positively freaky and using the red eye thing on Picasa gives her freakily red/green eyes)

Very sweet pictures. And....ahem....great hats. At first I was surprised seeing as your close proximity to to New York City, but then again, isn't your husband orignally from MA? Either way, good boy.

Tony says..."If you don't need them to read, then why do you have them?"

He also says "Spread the nose pads so your glasses drop down more."

Also, "They can be adjusted to a pantascopic tilt. It brings the bottom of the frames closer to your cheeks, it tilts the lenses."

Tony is in the optical industry. He spent many years adjusting people's glasses.

Love the pix! I don't think I've seen a close up of your hubbie - very cute. ;)

It took me a week to get used to my progressives, but I have the weakest 'script possible. I'm thinking they need to be adjusted on your head better - as Tony was saying. I never had that much trouble with head positioning!

Yup, I played with the ear pieces and think they need that tilt-I'll try and go back and get them adjusted right this weekend.

Great pics and I love the new glasses. I don't think you're suppose to have to move your head, though.

Great pics! Elena is growing like a weed, what are you feeding that girl? lol very cute just like you.

I was going to get those glasses as well, but when I tried my Mom's out I couldn't get use to looking down to read either. I'm sure Tony is right that they just need to be adjusted though. I just hang mine off my nose.

I've had the progressive lenses for 2 years now - I HATE THEM and have never gotten used to them. Everything you said is exactly my problem too.

My friend has glasses like this. The top is for distance, the middle for everyday looking and the bottom part is for reading. She said they drive her nutso! LOL!
