Since you all scared me a bit about the UTI (Jess in particular), I went to the doctor this AM. No, no appointment, I just drove there at 9:00 AM and asked to see the doctor and eerily, they put me right in a room to wait. I have a UTI and also have a respiratory infection on top of it. Last night I kept being awakened from pain, not back pain, but severe sore throat and headache. I'll start the antibiotics tonight (I dropped of the script, but didn't have it in me to wait an hour for it, so Mike will pick it up tonight) and hopefully in a day or so, things will be better. The sore throat and nose stuff is bothering me more then the kidney. My primary did give me a load of crap for not making the urology appointment. I told him I wanted to let it "pass on it's own" and then he kinda blew up. He has a patient who had a stone too big to pass, is in the hospital now, had a stent inserted etc. I explained I didn't want a stent or anything because, well it hurts a lot. He told me I had to see the urologist and I could talk to him, but I was asking for trouble letting it go. Maybe they'll just shatter it and no stent will be needed. This is a tough one because I know people pass these on their own and don't know they have them=do I want intervention? The appointment isn't til mid-July anyway (soonest I could get) and they talked to me about the antibiotics for the UTI and then told me the emergency room is mandatory if I have any severe pain. I knew all that and just took the appointment and will try to figure it out in the next month and a half. It's always something and I'm just tired.
I had my volunteer thing this AM and went in because it was "Teacher Appreciation Day" also and I had the gift for Elena's teacher. Elena wrote out a card, on her own, and when her teacher read it she cried. Elena told her what a great teacher she was, how much she enjoyed her class and that she loved her. I wore my pendant in and the teacher saw it, recognized the picture had been done in the class and brought home and begged for info on the pendant and how to get one made-then she opened hers and then she cried again. I am going to miss having her as Elena's teacher next year-she is a terrific person all the way around.
I didn't finish the bag last night, sitting bothered me, but I'll finish up tonight (maybe). Elena has Brownies, but they are having a "Mother's Day" skit type thing, so I have to go to that.
This was kind of a bummer post, wasn't it-not meant to be, just letting you know I did see the doctor and am starting antibiotics tonight-thanks for the advice.
