No More Excuses

Okay, Jewels (and everyone else who asked)-my Interchangeables came in today, but also I picked up some #7 needles off of DeStash last week to try my hand at knitting-they came in yesterday. I had large needles, but Jaye suggested starting out on 7's first-so.....I hope to get started this weekend or the beginning of next week. The silk noil project has been frogged for now and I am making The Slouch Bag from Interweave Crochet using some Peace Fleece wool. I find myself kinda burned out with the crocheting for now, so I don't know how much will get done. I did sew the snap into the Exchange Bag though. I also realized is mis-measured when I did the lining for Mimi's bag, so I have to get more material for the lining sometime next week. As you can read, I am having a bit of an off week hook wise.

Elena brought me home a plant today for Mother's Day, as well as a handmade, hand written card. The card said why she loved me (because I was her mom), it said I was the greatest mom ever too. It also said I had black hair (it's brown), beautiful eyes and a nice smile. My favorite part was where she listed my favorite thing to do was crocheting :P.

I hope everyone has a Happy Mother's Day. I don't know what our plans are, but it's not that big of a deal to me if we go out, etc-just spending time with the family is enough. Hopefully we'll get the pool cover off, although I keep forgetting to order supplies.

Deneen, if you were my student, I would tell you to learn to knit on a size 9 or 10. Be patient with yourself, you are learning something new and it takes time to train your hands/eye.

I have aluminum needles in all sizes, but have size 10 bamboo, size 10 1/2 bamboo and now 7 bamboo. I have some bamboo dpns and some aluminum dpns too. I can try the 10 and the 7.

Happy Mothers Day (in advance!)I also advise using the size 10 needles and some nice chunky yarn. That's what worked best for me anyway! :)

Glad the needles finally arrived. As for knitting you'll get accustomed to what you like. Every knitter has their own preference for needles.

Happy Mother's Day!
