She wore it!

Elena actually wore her bolero today! I didn't snap a pic (she said I could when she got home) because it was a last minute thing. I grabbed a top for her to wear today that specifically had turquoise in it, hoping she would wear it. I brought it up, she said "not today" and I let it go. Then, about 20 seconds before walking out the door, she grabs it and says "I'm wearing this today, okay?"-kids, go figure. She told me I could take a pic later, she already "modeled" it once, right? Anyway, she threw it on and then realized how easily it tied and was more excited. She is a worry wart all the time.

It surprised me show wore it, but the reason is that she wants the stuff, asks for it, but hates the attention it brings her. She is oddly shy like that. The kids in school don't even notice, however teachers do. She wore a tank/bolero set I made her last year and several teachers stopped her in the hall while she was heading to lunch/gym/Spanish/Computer-whatever and told her how much they loved it, how nice it was, etc-that drove Elena crazy. She hated the attention it brought. Reading Stacy's post this AM reminded me of that exact thing. I have several items upstairs I made her that are so cute, took so much time and yet she tells me "I'll wear it on the weekends"-yes, I still keep making some things for her.

I am currently working on the Seafoam Vest-yes the brain has kicked in again and I figured out my stupidity-comes from reading a pattern, but not really reading it. It's flowing nicely now and hopefully it'll be done by the weekend. I plan to work on the Exchange Bag from SnB HH next. I have this LaEspiga Omega that Jessica kindly picked up for me at HL about 1 1/2 years ago (that long?) and I am making it! I will look for Fray Check later today or over the weekend. I need a summer bag and haven't even looked yet. I also plan on taking out Elena's sewing machine and setting it up (again, finally on that one) tomorrow. I will finally get the lining done on the bag that I made using Mimi's awesome pattern too. I have a few bags I made last year and didn't line yet-so I could work on them too. I still haven't done the baby gifts yet for the twins born a month ago-I am so bad sometimes, I know.

Well, more updates tomorrow. It always starts with good intentions, we'll see how it goes today!

I'm so glad she likes the jacket. It makes you feel proud in a way doesn't it. My daughter wants me to make her all kinds of stuff, I'm so behind and have so many FOs. *sigh*

I find that quality in Elena very sweet.
I still haven't lined my purse either. I need to get the sewing machine out, also.

My daughter is funny like that too. She won't even wear a costume on Halloween!
I so want to make the seafoam vest! Can't wait to see yours.

Kids are just the funniest things, aren't they? My niece is like that, always asking for things and never using them that much. Oh well, it's sweet nonetheless.

Can't wait to see the seafoam vest!

I love the exchagne bag! I'm actually about to cast on shortly for my third one for a friend's birthday in June. And I have clearly expressed to Julie that my good name is riding on her posting and she absolutely must post.

Somehow, I am like that too, wanting to wear my crocheted garments ever since I could make them, but I cant take the looks. Especially if I dont know if they liked it. I didnt have the satisfaction of crocheting for a daughter, but I was so glad that my younger sister appreciated my work so much, she wore the tops and purses that I made since she was in her teens.
