OMG What is Wrong With Me???

I swear, I have a yarn addiction problem and it has to stop! Today, I cashed my paycheck. I need clothes-desperately as everything is way to big-of all places, I stopped at Wal-Mart (no eye rolling please) and damn if they didn't have some cute stuff in this year. I spent $120 on clothes there (hangs head), but bought 8 cotton tank tops, two bamboo cami's, 1 pair of tan capris, two pair of capri casual sweat type pants and two tops for work. I also bought *gasp* a freaking bathing suit. Everything was marked down and what freaked me out the most was I only needed a size 8 in everything, including the damn bathing suit- tankini with boy shorts-eegads. I just bought one in size 12 last year and paid $85 for a suit that looks like crap and is way too big and I decided I wasn't spending a lot for bathing suits anymore-My mother came with me and she saw me grab tops in larger sizes, snatched them out of my hands and announced "enough is enough dammit, stop buying everything too damn big"-she's right, but from a few years of steroids, I had been so uncomfortable with my body, it was easier to buy big and not care. Elena even gasped and said "whoa Mom, put those things away (my boobs)" and then "Oh my, you look sexy"-weird coming from a 7 year old, but kind of nice all the same. ETA: I don't mean to sound like a am bragging about my size, etc-just a bit shocked about the difference from last year to this year and actually kinda freaked out.

To the yarn-I had to get some Peaches N Cream while there and bought some nice new colors, 4 skeins (all they had of the new). I then called Mike and dragged everyone out for Chinese, my treat (yes, I am bad with money).

I then promptly got home and placed a Knit Picks order for some Shine Sport and some of the new Cot-Lin. Color choices weren't great, but I need lighter yarn and plan to make a few tank tops or little bolero's for myself. I ordered Royal Plum in the Cot-Lin (wanted the red, but worried about the color running, etc) and Orchid in the Shine Sport.

I then hit WEBS sale and bought the Ritratto yarn #82 for the Allegheny Moon Moebius Shawl in Doris Chan's new book (I wanted the black multi yarn, but feared my eyes couldn't take it). Using the #82 won't really make it the Allegheny Moon Shawl because well, it's not the blue multi, but WEBS didn't have it and I got this cool multi color to go with everything anyway. You know me and multis. WEBS pics weren't too clear and the description on the sale sheet said olive/multi, but yarnmarket had decent pics. I still like the black best, but it's too late now. More blue in the 82 to go with jeans that I live in anyway. I also picked up some Reynold's Saucy in Denim to make a Short N Sweet bolero from SnB Happy Hooker. The last round I was making an XL and the stitches didn't add up correctly-this time I'll make a medium and I've seen tons of mediums on line and they worked out so there!

So see, I promptly blew a load today-must end, must end!

Oh, let me know how you like the Cot-lin! I was eyeing that yesterday and very nearly ordered it.

My goodness, you must of shopped until you dropped! At least you had fun doing it. As for the yarn, I'm just as bad. So we gotta get busy with our projects. I would like to make some tank type tops myself for summer.

Bamboo tops? At Walmart? cool!

Bamboo and rayon-little sticker explaining how bamboo is biodegradable, breathable, etc. Things were only $5.00 each too (on sale) and I grabbed two of them. They have the built in bra shelf and all-very soft and comfy, but I haven't washed them yet. Machine wash, lay flat to dry.

I was just telling Mike how bamboo is big now for sheets, etc.

Let me know what you think of the cotlin. I want to try it, but am too poor to get any just now.

Everyone needs a little retail therapy now and then. I buy a lot of my casual clothes a Wal-Mart, especially my summer things. To tell you the truth, they hold up better than some of the clothing I've bought at more expensive stores.

I get totally organic shirts at Sams' club.
And I bought TWO bikinis *gasps!* The horror! The other day... but it was for the hot tub and NO ONE but David will EVER see me in them so it's ok.

Wow, I am green, also loved the green colors of the Knit Picks Yarn. I am so with you about the steriods. I too had a major weight gain, but found the right diet, thanks to hubby and now, if I could stay away from chocolate, cream and butter. Please give us the low down on those yarns, I have used the Ritratto and simply loved it, gorgeous stuff. I am putting it into a Chris Bylsma "Crayon Box Jacket".

I am so addicted to that Peaches & Cream yarn! LOL! I work right next to a Wal-Mart, so every time I have an extra few bucks (and the term "extra" is relative here--I, too, am not so good with money!), I wind up with a few more balls of it. It's so inexpensive, and not hard to work with, and just yummy. ;)

Their clothing really is cute this season. Glad you got such good deals.
