Some Answers

After a month of not feeling "right", chest pain, back pain, etc. I finally have an answer-a big honking kidney stone! Yes, a trip to the ER this morning led to many tests, many questions and one answer-I have a kidney stone that is evidently ready to pass soon. The pain has subsided, thanks to Percoset and I am on Percoset, quarts of liquids and semi-bedrest til the damn thing decides to go. I took off work tomorrow (yes, that was the switched day) because I am mortified I will pass it at work. So now I have to pass it by Monday, cause I have work then.

Part of me is scared to pass the damn thing-classic avoidance and another part of me wants it gone. I have that long awaited pain management appointment on Tuesday and dammit, nothing is making me reschedule.

So if I am not around the next few days, have good happy thoughts for me.

Hope you get over it soon...that would be such a relief to get rid of it and the pain that it brings.

Is the stone in the kidney or in the ureter?

I hope it passes quickly.

I swear I didn't give it to you...

Ouch! There seems to be an epidemic of kidney stones recently, two women at work had them last week. Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

Oh, girl. Reading this made me wince, it seriously did. Hope your stone is more cooperative than mine and passes quickly; the one GOOD thing is that once it's gone it's gone, you'll feel better almost immediately. I'm thinking happy healthy thoughts in your direction as hard as I can!

ugh! I am glad they figured out what it is, but man, kidney stones are no fun! I hope it passes sooner rather than later, and I hope you can do some hookin' while doped up on percocet!

This is the first time I am posting a comment on your blog. I only recently found it about two weeks ago, and now it's one of the first things I check in the mornings at work. Your crochet is just fantastic and I love looking at all the eye candy here. I am new-ish to crocheting and don't have a ton of skill under my belt just yet, and I truly feel inspired when I view your projects.

I've passed a kidney stone before and it is not the most comfortable thing in the world to do. I would have to say it was one of my least favorite things actually. However, it's manageable and if you are drinking tons and tons of liquids and taking the Percocet you will do great. You'll especially do great if you're not a whiny girl like me! I'm sure of it. And once it passes the pain is just gone in an instant. And it typically goes pretty quickly from what I understand. Hang in there, I'm sure you will do great. I'm sorry you have to go through this!

Good Lord! Well I guess that's the good news and the bad news. I'm glad you know what's been ailing you but I'm so sorry that it's going to get worse before it gets better. What does one say in these situations, good luck? No. I'll wish you a speedy recovery instead.
