Another Pair of Socks

I made these over the weekend, forgot to post them. They look a bit wonky, but they're not when they are on. I used this yarn (scroll down)-the merino-tencel blend from Mind's Eye I bought on DeStash. I could have made them longer, but the total amount was about 350 yards and I was afraid I would run out of yarn on the second sock (which i didn't, of course). I used Kimberly's V-stitch sock pattern (again) because it doesn't use as much yarn as the South Bay Pattern. I loved the feel of this yarn and on, it feels wonderful and I imagine knit socks would be amazing-however crocheting this is a bugger. It splits a bit and using a small hook/dark color-I couldn't wait to get done. I worked on one then the other immediately to avoid SSS (second sock syndrome). They are a bit "airy" and I also imagine they would easily snag onto stuff if I wore them around the house, but they are super soft, have amazing sheen, yada-yada-yada. This yarn is a bit thinner than the regular merino sock yarn I usually use and I probably should have used a D hook instead of an E, but they're done and they fit perfectly!

Very nice. At least if you have to feel miserable, you can have happy feet while you do it.
Hope you feel better soon.

If they feel good and look good on then they are perfect.

I'd have to say that wearing crocheted socks probably makes for a damn fine day.
Hope you're feeling better soon. Glad to hear the pain management went well, but tell that stone it's time to go!

The socks look great! I've never tried to crochet any. I need to look up that pattern.

I hope Thursday sees you feeling much better.

Those are so cute! Are they easy enough for a novice? :-/

Alexis, these are easy as long as you are comfortable with a small hook and fine yarn. Just take notes on your first sock, how many rounds, etc and it's simple. The afterthought heel is the easiest.
