Appointment Update

Back from the neuro/pain guy-I like him, a lot. His physician's assistant is awesome too. Much more "new age" setting then a doctors office, but yes, he is a neurologist. Apparently I have C-5-6 (I think that was it, my bicep muscle strength was good, but my tricep and hand muscles were bad) spine problems, bone spur or compression-MRI is ordered. I have muscle weakness in my left hand something awful, embarrassingly so. Anyway, no treatment today, but I will probably get trigger point injections and acupuncture next month, after the MRI. No drugs, my choice and his-can't do it anymore and refuse. After all the toxic shit I have pumped into my body in the past year (methotrexate injections, Imuran, Prednisone) etc., I am finally feeling "healthy" and refuse it all-end of discussion. At least he is looking at making it better and not just covering it up, exactly what I want in a physician.

He also said that "I won't get sick this winter" and that's my new mantra. He feels my icky gallbladder was infected for years and causing all the problems for me. He doesn't understand why the heck someone didn't get an abdominal CT scan, but I think they did, but he says if they did, they would have known right away. Anyway, the neck and shoulder pain are related to a disc problem and nothing else. Maybe things are really going to be better, I can only hope and have positive thoughts, right?

Anyway, physical therapy is held off til I see him next month. I really don't want it and am hoping the therapy helps me enough to avoid it. I am joining a gym after my next appointment with him also. Quitting smoking, seriously quitting is high on my list of "new year" things also.

YAY!
Glad you finally found someone who is willing to go the extra mile and treat you, not just medicate you.
