Frantic Friday

Sorry guys, no Foodie Friday for me today-too much little stuff to get done. The bad news is that Elena has a cold (I hope it is a cold and not an infection). I do plan to call the pediatrician today to see (read this as "beg") him for some antibiotics in case she spikes a temp on the ship-somehow Doc from "The Love Boat" keeps popping in my head and I don't have the most confidence in that. She's allergic to Pennicillin and doesn't take pills, so I doubt they'll have a non-penicillin liquid on the boat. Spending a day in a Bermuda ER doesn't sound like fun either. She kept waking up last night sneezing, coughing and generally felt ick. No fever, but she does sound lousy. Wednesday, when she got off the bus I knew something was brewing-pale, red eyed and sneezy-I knew it and again, my husband blew it off. Sigh. I've just had the chest tightness that comes from cold/allergies. The good news is that I doubt Goldenrod and Ragweed are found in the middle of the ocean or on an island-yay! Update: I called Elena's pediatrician's office and somehow convinced the nurse to call in an antibiotic without us going in. I will only use it if she gets worse of spikes a temp, but I feel so much better having it with me. Nothing is worse then feeling sick when you're supposed to be having fun-besides, this could lower her immune system a bit and if there is any illness on the boat, double-whammy her-it's happened.

We are almost set-doing the last load of laundry now. All the dress clothes are hanging in various places throughout the house (read doorknobs of all three bedrooms, ceiling fan in spare room), but I have a fear I will forget something and want them all out and don't want to pack them til last minute because I don't want to spend the first night on the boat ironing.

I'm definitely not taking any crochet-books are all I plan to haul with me. Oh, auntie Flo came two days early and for once I cheered her on. At least the whole trip won't be thwarted by her.

I will leave you with these, memories from the last time we were there:

Have a wonderful time away from "it all". It just looks so relaxing. I am so jealous. Can I just stow away in one of those suitcases?

Have a great time! A tip on packing to avoid ironing...roll everything rather than fold it, this eliminates creases and somehow you can pack more...not sure how the last bit works but it does!
