Fantastic Friday

Yes, it's dreary. Yes, Ernesto is heading our way and bringing lots of winds and lots and lots of rain and yes, he is ruining our weekend. We have beach plans for Sunday, but more than likely will be hanging out at my brother's watching his big screen TV-which is okay with all of us.

Mike took Elena to work with him to give me some "peace and quiet time" for my birthday. They're going to leave work early today, around 2:30, to try and beat the bad weather home tonight. We were going to go out to dinner, but I think Chinese take-out is what we'll end up doing (thanks Ernesto), but it's all good!

Mike and Elena both gave me give cards to AC Moore (totally $100!) and they are burning a hole in my pocket. Sunday is a Midnight Madness sale-all items in your cart from 6-10PM are 25% off. I'll probably stop on the way home from my brother's (weather permitting). I think I'll spend half of the gift card on just stuff I want to try and then other half save it up, for a special project. Last year he gave me Michaels and I had a hard time finding yarn I wanted (but yet I did buy stuff, just not a lot of fibery goodies), so I am thrilled he remembered I preferred AC Moore. Hopefully, they'll have some of the new Patons SWS (wool/soy silk and it self-stripes, like the poor cousin version of Noro Kureyon). It felts too!

Well, I told myself I would go back to bed, but doubt I will. School starts next week and I'll have lots of quiet then too. I did send in the sub info and said I was available any day and all day. It's grades pre-K through 8 with 4 classes per day, so I'll probably be working several times a month, which is good on the fiber enhancement front.

Off to sit and finish up Rachel's bag (yes, I need to get different grosgrain ribbon) and perhaps even start the sari silk bag and then, I swear, the Bell Sleeved tunic-maybe both!

Ernesto passed though Charleston yesterday with lots of rain and some flooding, but little wind for us.

Hang in there this weekend. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

Well, I don't know about it being the "poor cousin." A lot of the Noro that I have felt is kind or rough. This yarn is so unbelievably soft and has such a wonderful drape.

$100 sounds awesome! I would blow it on books...ha ha...
