Karma, Ass-Biting and the Meme

See, this is what I get-it's all coming back to bite me in the ass! Last Friday, I did Sara's meme and I did myself in. This specific question and answer is what got me, again.

Do you read a pattern all the way through before beginning? I skim it all the way through to make sure I can handle it, but never really read or study it. I check stitches used, yarn used and kinda go from there. And, yes, it's bit me in the ass.

Ya see, I discussed the Short N Sweet Bolero and am working it now. I was on the front panel. I say was cause I finally turned the pattern page and got to the "Body" section. Apparently, this is where it goes round and round and where you add the rows, not at the back section or front section. I frogged-the whole right front panel is gone and half of the back. It's sucks, but it is my own fault for not reading the damn pattern through. If I had, I would have seen exactly what I figured out for the back panel, what row to work to to make it longer. Would have saved a lot of brain power I used playing around with it the other day.

So there, Karma baby and it bit me in the ass!

From now on, I will read through the pattern if it freaking kills me!

Ah damn...

Do you know that you just saved me a lot of frogging? I started that bolero quite some time ago, but it wound up in my UFO's...I had been planning on making it longer because it looked ridiculously short!

So sorry you had to frog :P

I try to read through most patterns, but not all the time.

What a bummer! I totally feel for you, unfortunately I do this all the time without fail, never learning from my mistakes ~ never. Ugh.

Awww, I got bit on a pattern and (I think) learned my lesson. No, I think I just learned it from you. That's a bummer.
