See it- OUT FOR DELIVERY! Now I have to say, a lot of times when I track through UPS, it says that and I don't get it until the next day-like they scan it and then at the end of the day they scan it delivered, but it hasn't been. He usually comes around 3:00 PM, so we shall see.

Crochet
About the sweater I was working on yesterday, no correction to the pattern, correction to my freaking brain, really. The pattern was written with the starting chain and row 1 as just Row 1, so when I had to have RS facing me, of course, I has WS, which screwed me up. All better now-DOH!

I have another confession to make. I am starting to really like using smaller hooks-F and G (that's small for me). It takes longer, but it's so rhythmic, really. I still like my big hooks and I did recently buy this book:

I haven't made anything from it, but it has some nice ideas for rugs, etc.

Back to the small hooks, I really like the smaller stitches for some things. I feel as if I have evolved!

I wanna make those espadrilles in the Interweave Crochet Mag next, but am avoiding doing anything in rounds for a while. Don't know what I'll do next.

Kids and Home
It cleared up beautifully yesterday, but is raining like hell today. Friday, the day of the zoo trip, is supposed to have thunderstorms-I wonder if there's a raindate? I doubt it.

I have to go drop off the last money order to the school for my sub license today. I guess I will be set for September now.

Elena was getting dressed for school this morning in a casual dress. I left her sandals out for her to wear (she doesn't have gym on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so she likes to wear her "other" shoes on those days). Anyway, she informed me she hated wearing sandals and wanted to wear sneakers with the dress. Now usually this stuff is fine, but this was a bad look today, so I told her no. She informed me I was making her wear things that "just weren't hip" (okay, I admit-my mom bought her two pair of sandals-one is Birkie style, but has an open back-she hates open backs. The second is like a sport sandal, in leather, however they are those light up ones and unfortunately, she has outgrown that look. Now, they make them in much bigger sizes, but Elena was like "Ugh"). I did buy her some Skecher sandals too, but they are more casual than the others. In any event, we changed twice today and shoes three times. She is only in kindergarten and I can't imagine what the heck it's gonna be like as she gets older. This is just a taste of what's coming.

Mike is leaving for a two day business trip to Atlantic City. Yup, we live 20 minutes away, but hell work is paying for a hotel room at the Borgata, so hey.......he will have meetings all day Wednesday and Thursday, but still. At least I won't have to cook dinner for any specific time, etc. He has a meeting tonight at 7:30, leaving for AC in the morning, may be back in time to meet up at the zoo, Red Sox vs Phillies game Friday night-lucky guy.

Elena had trouble sleeping due to "fear of falling out of the bed". I had to open her trundle bed up, so she had a cushion on one side. I am moving the furniture in her bedroom this weekend and putting one side of the bed against the wall. She doesn't remember falling, but I asked her about it and now she is being neurotic about it-I am so stupid most times.

Been there, done that many times. We all make those sorts of parenting goofs ;)

When I hear those mother/daughter stories about clothing struggles it makes me a little happier I don't have a daughter, but only a little. There are always those little struggles with boys, too, though they're just different.

So exciting, about the spinner! Keeping my finger's crossed for you.
BOTH of my daughter's take FOREVER to get dressed. I, on the other hand, just grab whatever is closest to me and clean. It never stop's. My oldest daughter is married and has a baby. If we are going somewhere together, I always tell her that whatever we are doing start's a half hour earlier because I know she will be a half hour late if I don't. ;)

I've made a few things lately with the smaller hooks, like the ladylike gloves from S'nB Happy Hooker book and the feeling of the fabric it makes is awesome feeling. Yah it takes longer, but I have so many crocheted things taking longer isn't a big deal.
