Did you all have a good holiday weekend? Our Easter was fantastic. Elena had a wonderful time with the family, the dinner came out good, no one argued or got mad at anyone else-what more can you ask????

My daughter is a bugger with the egg hunt. Now, she's been sleeping til 9-10 AM every morning and yesterday morning she got up at 6:30 AM-which I guess is okay, but she went to bed at 10 the night before and I went to bed at 1:30 AM. When I heard her rustling, I frantically whispered to Mike "The eggs weren't hidden yet!!!!". Luckily, he got up a half hour earlier and trekked out in the early morning dew to hide the 24 eggs. Good thing too!

She loves the egg hunt more than anything else. Unfortunately, she then insists on hiding them in the house, rehiding them outside, etc. over and over again-which gets old real fast, after the first time actually.

My brother was babysitting a weimaraner named Rudy and brought him with. Now Elena is afraid of most dogs, very nervous about them in general, prefers cats, etc. Anyway, Rudy was such a doll that Elena spend hours outside playing with him, feeding him and generally adoring him. She then begged my brother to bring Rudy back in the summer for a cook out and he agreed, so she is thrilled.

By 7:00 PM, with the company all gone (we always eat holiday meals at 2:00 PM), we were all tired. Elena fell asleep at 8:00 on the couch and, after a battle about how "untired she was", went up to bed by 8:15 PM without a peep. I went to bed at 11:00 and we all work up at 8:30, so we're all ready for today.

Mike and Elena are going to a matinee today to see "The Wild". They asked me to go, but honestly, I have had it with animated/kids shows and need the quiet time. Yes, Elena is back to school tomorrow and Mike is back to work, so I will get my quiet time, but I have the doppler tomorrow and background check/fingerprinting Wednesday and I NEED MY TIME NOW! Update: I wanted to go to Target today also, but Target is near the movie theater, which is about 20 minutes away. In an effort to save gas, I am driving Mike and Elena to the movies and then going to Target. Not exactly the TIME I wanted, but I have to get Elena some stuff, check out the half-price egg dye for wool dyeing (this is the important stuff ya know) and may hit Old Navy for clothes for Elena. However, I plan to bring my crochet with me to do in the car-I'll take my alone time however I can get it. I would park outside the movie theater and crochet, but am hinky since someone was randomly murdered there several months ago-in broad daylight, around noon on a week day. She was pre-buying tickets for her family when it happened. Yes, they caught the guy (vagrant who didn't even know the victim), but it hit too close to home for me. Perhaps the Target lot isn't any safer, but no one has been murdered there yet.

Crochet wise, I finished my stole for the stole swap and am shipping it out today. I am working on the Ophelia Bolero I started last month (see, I did have one WIP) and may start the Sweet Pea Shawl from SnB HH later, but probably not til the bolero is done.

So I'm off for another family filled day!
