Mail Pressies and Yarn Bargains

Easter Egg Hunt was rained out for today, so we figured we would go pick up Mike's tags for the truck, pick up some lunch and of course, stop at Dollar Tree for the Paton's yarn everyone has been cooing about at only $1 a skein.

I picked up 4 skeins of Bernat Frenzy and 5 skeins of the Paton's Voodoo in Suede. Personally, I am not crazy about the Frenzy, but it makes funky scarves and was a steal. The Voodoo is some funky ass yarn I must say, kind of like a cable with sporadic fuzzies sticking out. I had to get it to make wither a funky hat or scarf for myself. I did see the same yarn was at Ram Wools for $3.67 a skein on clearance, so for a buck I skein, I am happy.

I received a package from Regina today too! What excitement opening that box. Inside was "Fuzzy" the mohair jellyfish and "Winchell" the wickedly cute donut. I swear when I saw those pictures on Monster Crochet, I thought the things were smaller. That is one enormous jellyfish. Elena loved them both and Winchell will share a spot with "Mr Blick", the damn one eyed cat/dog thing (UGLI doll) she adores so much and "Fuzzy" will get strung up and hung from the ceiling in her bedroom.

I also think my package from Mimi finally arrived. I chose the cheap shipping and it literally took two months. Since it's sent registered, I will pick it up at the post office on Monday. Can't wait to see the thread (yes, thread-I want to do a filet name thingy for my daughter).

I wish Elena didn't ham it up so much in the pictures!

We had lunch today at Moe's Southwestern Grille, which is a chain, but I don't know where they are. Anyway, my dd who is a picky eater, tried fajitas last week and fell in love. She order a fajita platter that had 3 flour tortillas, grilled chicken, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, black olives, lettuce and sour cream and damn if she didn't make a fajita up for herself, make two more for me to bring home for later and proceed to mix all the leftover ingredients together and eat it like a salad-I have never, ever seen her eat like this before. I'm glad, but she kinda freaked me out. I, on the other hand, got the kiddie platter of Moo Moo Cow, which was a "kid's sized burrito (I couldn't finish it all, wasn't that small) and a cookie-of course, Elena glommed onto the cookie before my butt even his the table.

It was a nice day and I have to tell you, probably one of the better ones I have had in weeks. See how easy I am to please????

Yep, yesterday was the pitts weatherwise. Glad you had a nice day though. I need to check out Dollar Tree, not that I need anymore yarn.
