Happy Birthday Elena!

My baby girl is six years old today! Somedays, I close my eyes and I'm right back there having her again and other days, it's like she's never not been with me. She amazes on the daily basis and everyday, even the bad ones, I count my blessings because I know how darn lucky I am to have her in my life!

It's 6:30 AM and I've been up an hour. There is a 50% improvement today compared to the past month. A long way off, but inspiring to me anyway. Some pain, but it's manageable and it only took me 5 minutes to get down the stairs today. I feel like a marathon runner and am beaming from ear to ear. I know it's all your good thoughts and healing vibes helping me, I just know.

My aunt stopped out last night. She doesn't like to drive in the dark and lives about an hour away, but stopped out to see Elena, bring her her pressies and she helped Elena get a shower. I was so darn happy she was here, she could never understand that, but I was. The 1 year anniversary of my uncles death (her husband) is Saturday and I know she misses him terribly. We added another name to come over for Christmas. So our little, easy, laid back Christmas should be busy, but that's okay. I just keep telling everyone to stop acting like it's my last freaking Christmas-it's not, so knock it off.

We're supposed to take some Munchkins (Elena's choice) and juice into school for Elena's school birthday party today. She's had more party's and will be sorry when December is over too. She's also fighting a nasty head cold, as is Mike, so cross you fingers for them too. Elena's school Christmas party is tomorrow and she wants us to go, but I have that bone scan and I don't know if it'll be done in time. Mike still has to wrap all the presents, finish up some shopping, etc. It all has to be done tomorrow and I'm not sure it's gonna happen, but we'll see.

I did crochet up a scarf and will post some pics later. I am still working on one for the girl down the street who makes sure Elena's all settled in at school. I want to drop it off at her house to her mom, but hate to do the "pop in". I know I have time before the holidays, but still I feel rushed. I am also trying to work on a shawl for someone (they won't get it til January, but I don't think they'll mind) and have something specific in mind, but can't seem to tweak it right. I has to be perfect for this person (in my head anyway)and I have to try and get some more ideas flowing.

The poor teachers this year only got a scarf each. Last year they received the baskets with soaps, etc, but it was not doable this year and I know they'll be bummed. Oh well.

Well, I need some coffee.......

I'm glad you're up and about, DON'T OVERDO, a present later on is still much loved, and in my case at least probably more appreciated cause it's not lost in the jumble of Christmas Day. I'm sure the teachers understand you've been ill this fall. You can make them spring baskets later on if you feel up to it. Now, just relax and enjoy the holidays.
{gentle hugs}

Happy birthday, Elena!! I feel like thru your blog I've gotten to know her a bit too, and from what you've shared you're very blessed to have a kid like her.

Glad to hear you're feeling better today. Kathy really said it all best, lol. :)

Happy Birthday Elena!

I am glad each day is a little bit better. Sierra's teachers all got scarves, too. You can always make soaps for them later in a few months when you are feeling better.

Don't be trying to do too much, now that you are starting to feel better. That is the type of thing that I try and do and then I pay for it. You can't afford to pay (IYNWIM.)
