"Bianca" Shrug/Bolero

I just finished testing Donna's "Bianca" Shrug/Bolero. It came out cute, but how I despise Red Heart yarn for clothing! I picked the color for Elena cause it looked so cheery, Bikini! It just doesn't cut it for clothing. Afghans yes, clothing no! It looks cute on her, but she complained the yarn felt "itchy"-of course.

Also, I was in Target tonight and saw a bunch of kids crocheted shrugs. I showed one to Elena and she begged for it. Of course, I flipped out and said, "I can make you one any time". She harrumphed me. I've mentioned before she loves me making her stuff, but then won't wear it to school because the teachers "fuss" over her about it. This is so frustrating!

you might want to try washing the bolero with a HEAVY dose of fabric softner.. and dry it on low with a couple sheets.. that might soften it ..

Reallly cute little shrug bolero, but don't tell Elena I made a fuss and said so, LOL
It'll definitely soften up after washings and some Fleecy. And BONUS - you love laundry too!! :)

It's super cute as is your daughter. What a doll you have there.
I agree with everyone else -- a good washing and a double dose of fabric softener should do the trick.

Kids get such funny notions... sometimes I wonder how we made it to adulthood! She's a doll though and it looks great.
ditto on the washings and fabric softner. (Hubby had to make me wash clothes twice a week cuz I was washing everyday and he kept grabbing shirts out of the closet he'd already worn that week and it made him mad. I still sneak and do more if I can get away with it. dirty clothes drive me batty)

such a cutie!! those colors look great on here, and so does the shrug. =)

i've had some success softening up RH by just washing the shit out of it, heh. since it's acrylic you dont have to worry about faded colors.

so in the case of a bag i wanted softer i just threw it in with every wash i did for 2-3 weeks, hehe.

(cover Miss Elena's eyes) that is just WAY too CUTE!! I love the colors too!! I have noticed the ponchos I made for Miss Priss are way softer after a few washings than they started out..I haven't made her anything but RH stuff because of her age. but Gosh thats too cute!! (cant wait for the pattern to come out somewhere)

Aw Deneen, I love it. It looks so cute. I don't like RH for clothes either. Isn't it crazy the amount of crocheted clothing in the stores now? At Target, Walmart, the mall stores. It's everywhere. And Erica did the same to me at Walmart. Picked up a crocheted bolero thingie and when I told her I could make her one she rolled her eyes at me. *sigh* we are so underappreciated....lol.
