Yummy Yarn Goodness!

My brother's in-laws came to visit me today. It's their first time in the US. Well, the presents they brought for me!

They know, from my brother, my weakness is yarn, so.......

The big round cakes are 100% cotton multistrand thread-about a sportweight yarn-2 lbs

Four plastic ring handles for bags

The brightly colored hanks covering my office chair, 100% silk yarn. I have never touched silk yarn before. They kept telling me "100% silk", it's gorgeous. Of course, some of it is a bit tangled from it's long journey and I'll have to wind it. I need a swift so badly now....Maybe I can send three olive some of it to wind and measure with her handy dandy yard meter............I think there is almost 4 lbs of it.

Next, which didn't particularly thrill me, yet I had to put on a good face, 10 lbs of various plastic beads. They know I like beads, but I prefer glass ones, although these can be used to crochet will. There are red rounds, pearl looking rounds, light blue football shaped, black rounds, etc. There was some nylon thread too for making beaded chokers, which I know nothing about. Angela's mom asked me to make her something with them and send them to her. I'll have to crochet with them. In any event, if anyone wants any sent to them for doing a bit of beaded crochet, let me know and I will happily send you out some. The holes are big enough for a thin beading needle to go through to string it.

I wish I could have seen the look on customs faces when they saw that stuff. Imagine, through transfers, etc carrying around 16 pounds of craft items! They brought so much stuff, I can't imagine how they did it.

I also received a Tibetan good luck charm made of some kind of quartz that is stunning and a beautiful cotton shirt. Elena received a purse, some funky crepe tops that are the size of a softball and stretch to her size. They look tie dyed and are totally cool, she's not big on them though. She also received a few smaller items.

They brought Mike some oolong tea and coconut candies. Yes, the way to his heart is his stomach.

Gotta run, we have company and everyone is swimming.

Yahoo! (the exclamation, not the website)

What a lovely gift! I kinda got all giddy at the thought of 10 pounds of beads though, holy crap! :)
