Socks, shawl and other things....

I didn't blog yesterday, which is rare for me, cause I spent over 1 1/2 hours on the phone with Aetna arguing over the fact that they couldn't get my meds, told me to find a pharmacy that could and then wouldn't cover them. I finally thought I had it straightened out and then realized I needed the syringes. I called back and was told Aetna wouldn't send them cause I didn't get the IV drugs from them, even though they didn't have them. Now, I needed to get a new Rx from my doctor and have him call them in. I don't know how Aetna expected me to use the medication without the syringes, but that's not their problem (sarcastically typed).

Anyway, my secret pal, not the one I send to the one who sends to me, sent me some Moda Dea Sassy Stripes. I told her in an e-mail when the reveal was done, I would send her something I made for her. She asked for socks/slippers, I gasped and then made em. I used this pattern and I thing one is a teensy bit wider than the other, but they'll make great slipper socks. Anyway, I will try the To-Up Socks next.

I'm working on a shawl from Crochet Me's first issue. I'll post when it's done.

I also did a yarn swap with Colette (Knit Witch) for some Red Heart Fiesta yarn in rose and I decided to do the cocoon sweater with that, so it's shelved til I get the yarn.

I am kinda broke and am going to be making some things for RAOK gifts. Those will be started in a few days. I also have a few RAOK's to ship out this weekend and did put together a bag a "like new" toys to donate to a local daycare program.

I also realized my daughter was right, I don't need any more yarn for now. I have a ton upstairs I should use first. Although I did get some yarn off of eBay the other day, but it's a small amount for some little things. I can't believe said I didn't need more yarn, but you know what I mean. It's overrunning my bedroom. I swear they're reproducing up there when no one is looking.

On a bummer note, the sheep yarn tape measure Ro had sent to me doesn't work. The tape doesn't retract. I have a call into Yarn Market this AM for a replacement.

Other than that, all is okay. Cold as heck here, no spring even pretending to be around the corner. I heard a brief news thingy last night snow is in the 5 day forecast. I need some outside days---oh well, can't fight mother nature, could be worse.

Oh yeah, for some unknown reason Elena is not sleeping well again. She woke up last night at 3:36 AM bright eyed and bushy tailed talking non-stop. She finally calmed down enough to sleep at 5:30 and then woke up at night continuing right where she left off. It's the third night this week and I don't get it. She's not sick, not in any distress, just keyed up. I am the one paying for it though. I am dragging butt all day. My husband is working a lot now. This is his busy time of year. He's a financial planner and also does health insurance for large businesses and this is renewal time. He's at appointments all day and can't get done what needs to be done at the office and is cranky. Plus he drives 1 1/4 hours one way to work each day. He claims this doesn't bother him, gives him down time, but he has been miserable this week. Very stressed out. So basically it's been a crabby week here for all.

Oh well, next week will be better-

Great minds must truely think alike...I'm working on the same cocoon sweater! I started it yesterday with some simply soft in 'bone'. I totally hope it works out cause it looks awesome. . I'm a little leary, though.

Awww man! Deneen that is a drag about the sheep. I hope that they will send you a replacement right away! And if they let you keep the one that doesn't work, maybe you can get the tape out of it and give it to Elena since she wanted to play with it anyway.

The socks are so adorable! love em.

Hope your weekend is better than your week was! Insurance companies just plain suck. We have Cigna and I hate I never thought I would ever say I miss Blue Cross but...I do.

huge hugs!!!
