Happy St. Patrick's Day

I just wanted to wish my handful of readers a Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am not Irish, nor do I pretend to be, even on St. Pat's Day. I did my share of schlepping drinks on St. Pat's Day for two years in a row, thank you. I avoid any bars, particularly on St. Pat's Day. Although the tips were awesome, it was truly not worth the aggravation.

My daughter asked me what we do on St. Pat's Day and I told her American's use it as an excuse to drink mostly. She then asked for some water to celebrate--so there, St. Patty's Day celebration has begun.

Anyway, I'm not wearing green today and neither is my daughter because no one in the family owns anything kelly green. Not a color that appeals to me in any way. We like green, just not kelly green. It's funny cause as I type this I remember my Pop-Pop's house had a hideous kelly green sculpted carpeting in the living room. It never matched anything. Ah, the 60's.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day I am making some corned beef and cabbage. I've made corned beef before and I've made cabbage before, but never together, so wish me luck!!

So, Erin Go Braugh; May the Wind Be at Your Back, get my drift.

Hey Deneen, Happy St. Patty's Day to you, too! Even though I am a small part Irish, this day never meant anything for me either until it became my anniversary. Anywho, hope your day is great, green or no green.
