On all fronts................

On the Blog Front:

As you can see, I've made my buttons clickable! Thanks to Marvie. I also have joined a few different rings (see "clickable" buttons below). My next step, and I will work on this soon, is to have the "blogs I read" with clickable buttons on my sidebar. I have joined Bloglines, but haven't worked on it yet.............

On the Crochetville Front:

The RAOK Wish List has taken off. Everyone seems pretty excited and some new members have signed up. I was able to grant a few wishes and hope to do more soon.

I signed up for the poncho/shawl swap, which I am very EXCITED about!!!! This should be awesome and I'm looking forward to making a creation for my swap partner.

Spring Secret Pals sign up is til January 22nd. I've never done this swap and am anxiously awaiting my "secret pal notification".

On the Crocheting Front:

After seeing Elizabeth's fulled purse, I decided to finally get up off my ass and do mine. I have had a pattern and the yarn for a year sitting waiting. But, of course, that's not the one I started. I went to AC Moore the other day and they had a sample on made with Paton's Merino Wool and Moda Dea Jai Alai that I loved. It was purple (which I love), but isn't practical, so I bought some denim merino and some cool looking Jai Alai (can't remember the color off hand) and decided to make a purse. I'm completely winging the pattern, which always turns out better for me anyway. I decided to make the straps by using my corker to make the tubes. I gave the sample at AC Moore a good "feeling up" til people began to eye me suspiciously. I then slunk away, but did run back to cop one more good feel.

Anyway, I will post before and after pics once it gets done.

Also, I want to start the Tweed Shawl pattern Dawnsrays did on Crochetville. Instead of starting at the point of the triangle, this one starts at the top of the shawl. All the yarn has been purchased so it's just a matter of getting off my ass and doing it.

I did two scarves yesterday, with Cha-Cha. That stuff is all right, but now I am a Jai Alai girl. I made a scarf for my mom and my dd. My daughter loved it and wants to wear it today, but of course, it's going up to 70 today, so no go. By Saturday it's supposed to only be 32, go figure.

I also made a blanket and three throw pillows for my dd new dollhouse. She's all excited. Ah yes, and a crocheted baby carrier also for the dollhouse.

On the home front:

My husband has been cooking dinner so much lately, I've become lazy. Anyway, tonight I am making a big ole pot of homemade sauce. Being half Italian ( on my mother's side) this is an art form. Anyway, I'm browning the pork chops now, then I'll make the meatballs and then brown the sausage. In my family, you throw eveything into the pot and simmer it for hours. It does taste great. My favorite is the beef cubes, but I don't have any today to put in.

I've been running around like a maniac the past few days, yet nothing looks any different. Laundry, sheets, bathroom scrubbing, vacuuming, etc. Of course, there's always yarn all over the place.

Gotta run, been on too long already!!

I'm so glad the wishlist has been extended. I wasn't able (what with Christmas and all) to fullfill nay wishes last time., I have already been able to do several so far this time.

I had to chuckle when I read the part about you making your sauce and HOW you make it. I am also half Italian (my mother's side) and that is EXACTLY how we made our Sunday sauce. It was also a good way to clean out all the leftover meats from previous dinners earlier that week. Hell, anything tastes good smothered in sauce we would have never known if any of those meats were on the verge of going rancid...my mother threw them in anyway! LMAO
Thanks for the walk down memory lane =)
